Hi, my name is Jayden Mitchell!

A Vancouver Island photographer, outdoor lover, and mom who believes the little moments are the ones worth holding onto. I’m passionate about creating natural, heartfelt images that capture the people, relationships, and seasons of life that mean the most.
Behind the Camera.
My love for photography started when I was 12 years old, when I bought my very first camera. What started as a simple hobby quickly became something I found myself coming back to again and again. I loved being able to freeze little moments in time , the ones that might seem ordinary in the moment but become the memories we hold onto years later.
Growing up on Vancouver Island, I’ve always been inspired by the beauty around me. The beaches, forests, golden sunsets, and quiet moments spent outdoors have shaped so much of what I love about photography. I’m drawn to natural light, beautiful landscapes, and images that feel warm, genuine, and true to the people in them.
Becoming a mom changed the way I see those moments even more. Watching my daughter grow has made me realize just how quickly each season passes. The tiny details, the little expressions, the everyday moments that you think you’ll always remember, those are often the moments we miss the most once they’re gone. She is the reason I decided to take the leap and turn my passion for photography into a full-time career, because I want to help other families preserve those same memories.
When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me enjoying the simple things in life. I love getting outside for a bike ride, exploring Vancouver Island, and spending time with my family. I’m a lover of cozy sweaters, crisp fall days, all things Christmas, and a good movie night curled up on the couch. Our home is also shared with our kitties, who bring plenty of personality and laughter into our everyday lives.
My approach to photography is relaxed, natural, and centered around creating an experience where you can truly be yourselves. I don’t want your photos to feel forced or like you’re trying to be someone you’re not. I want to capture the laughter, the little interactions, the quiet moments, and the love that already exists between you.
Because at the end of the day, the photographs that matter most aren’t always the perfectly posed ones, they’re the ones that bring you right back to how that season felt.
I’m so grateful you’re here, and I would love the opportunity to capture your story
